Egger sludge pumps

Emile Egger, a Swiss pioneer in the pump industry, founded the company in Cressier in 1947 and immediately started manufacturing pumps. Even then, Egger pumps were characterised by their ability to handle liquids mixed with sludge and gas, and Egger has become a leading pump manufacturer in the field of difficult to handle, abrasive media applications. Through careful, step-by-step expansion, the company has retained its independence and remains a family-owned business to this day. Even in today’s manufacturing culture, it has maintained its goal of producing pumps with exceptional durability.

In their vortex pumps, the impeller is retracted in the pump volute, thereby ensuring that the impeller is in contact with a maximum of 15% of the transported fluid, allowing free flow and gentle handling.

It is available in horizontal and vertical axis arrangements, with wet and dry mounted motor and pump, as well as with axial impeller design.

We recommend its use for the following media:

  • suspensions
  • liquids containing abrasive substances
  • long fiber materials
  • emulsions
  • all kinds of abrasive slurries
  • liquids with 25% gas content

Egger sludge pump types

  • Turo T/TA types: sludge pumps equipped with a vortex impeller, in which only 15% of the medium comes into contact with the impeller. Ideal for pumping liquids with high solids or fiber content.

  • E/EOS types: ideal for pumping liquids with high solids or gas content, multi-phase media. The maximum gas content in the pumped medium is 25%. The pump has an externally adjustable wear plate to maintain constant performance.

  • HT/HPT types: ideal for high pressure and high temperature applications, multiphase chemical process media close to boiling point and applications with a low NPSHa. Reactor recirculation is a typical application. According to API 610 OH2 standard.

  • RPP/RPG types: elbow pumps with high flow and low head, ideal for the gentle transport of liquids, whether it contains fibres or solids.

  • Atex Zone 0 vertical sump pumps: for the transport of liquids with a maximum temperature of 150° C and a maximum pit depth of 10 m.

  • TEO types: Slurry pumps equipped with hybrid impellers that combine the advantages of semi-open and vortex impellers. Ideal for transporting high gas content liquids and large diameter solids.
